I wish I had the energy to be funny right now.

Greetings friends,

I've never really had any big ideas or plans for a blog/website latly. But I must say that this little photo blog has been great. The conveinence is incredible, especially when hooked up with the cool program called Picasa from the genius' over at google. Y'all should check it out.

The school year is winding down and I almost have 1/4 of my college career under my belt. S'been great so far, the parties, the crawfish boils, the subsiquent aftermath of both, eh, maybe that's not great, but still I'm blessed. I always find it cheesy when people say, "I'm blessed" but I suppose the truth of the matter is, I am.

LSU; when I first decided to come down here for college I had no idea of what I was going into. And looking back I think perhaps luck had more of a part in it all anyways. Latly I've had this overwhelming feeling that the United States is small, it's not, but going to school 1000 miles has definiatly changed my perspective on the world, consider this:

Who's world is smaller, the international who's traveled all over, or the farmer who has lived in one town his whole life? The internaltional's world is smaller in my opionion, because has been places and to him anywhere is reachable, and in fact many places have already been attained. On the other hand, to the farmer, there are infinite possiblities, places he can only dream about, so in essensce I'd say the farmer's world is larger.

Just food for thought I suppose, but it's been on my mind latly. I know I want to travel to alot of places but what I really think I'd rather have is the experience of living abroad for a few years each in several different places. Perhaps a happy medium between a small and large existence. Ether way, props to Michigan, t'will always be my home-place. So for now, Talk to the Hand (Points to Fenton, MI on hand)

Y'all have a goodnight,
CP

PS - Some songs I've been listening to latly-

Cary Brothers: Blue eyes
Frou Frou: Hear me out, Let go
The Shins: When I goosestep, Caring is creepy, New Slang, et al.
Coldplay: Trouble, Don't panic

That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence.

I took this picture during Mardi Gras as the Krewe of Tucks passes in front of the Red Room. The Red Room actually sat in the Eiffel Tower untill the late 60s when they found that it was causing structural damage to the tower. Story goes that the owner was furious, so he sold it to the highest bidder who dissmantled it and brought it to New Orleans. Right now, it's a pretty swanky place to eat on the famed, St. Charles ave. Maybe Kelso and I will make it there on one of our future weekend trips to the city. Posted by Hello

More shots of campus, one of LSU's esteemed giant oaks. There are plantation homes down here with driveways lined with these things, it's incredible. Posted by Hello

The palm trees are what get me. There's something about 'em. I suppose I'm just a naive Michigan boy but I thought all palm trees had coconuts. I guess I'll just have to get shipwrecked on a caribbean island.... Posted by Hello

.:When I goosestep:.

They say there is a time for everything; and that time is college. The past year has been incredbile, so much to do, so much to experience. I'll tell you, there's nothing that'll make you grow up like moving a thousand miles away from anything that remotely resembles home or, home in the sense of people. I have a new sense of home now. It's something I create for myself. The utter control I have over my future is scary and intruging at the same time. There are so many things to see, so many people to meet. But for now Louisiana State is where I am, and I love it here. It's gorgeous almost everyday. Occationally we'll get a monsoon style rain, but I love that too, and with my automatically opening umbrella no rain is to hard. (----, (under my black umbrella).

catch y'all later.
